Hello and welcome to our blog!

First of all, who are we?  Well, I'm Jackie Marchant, children's writer and my hubby Eddie took early retirement a few months ago.  That was about the time he decided he needed a hobby.  So, he got a load of this:

And bought a Eurocave to put it in.

We have two children, who are almost grown up and a mad dog, who used to look like this:

But now he looks like this:

And when he's not lying about, he does this:

That's him doing agility, which he is quite good at, a lot better than me, which is a shame, as I'm the one who's supposed to tell him where to go.

You might wonder what this has got to do with our trip.  Absolutely nothing.  But apparently people like pictures of dogs.  And cake.  I'm sure there will be cake on here somewhere - as well as wine.

So, why are we going on a Southern Hemisphere get away from the winter round the world wine trip?

Hmmm - do I really need to answer that?
